Today is the first day of Black History Month and what better way to start the day then celebrating African American Wedding Traditions Jumping The Broom is said to origin from West and Central Africa and is to symbolize the start of a new beginning when they jump the broom. Tying The Knot is when the couple has their wrists tied together and is to symbolize unity affirming the commitment. Tasting Four Elements is one that isnt heard of to often but it symbolizing that the newlyweds will be able to get through anything in their marriage. The bride and groom sample four different flavors; Lemon for sour, Vinegar for bitter, Cheyenne for hot, and Honey for sweet.
